I've been playing a lot of Battlefield 1 and it inspired me. This is probably the most squeamish and graphic illustration I've ever created. The Mauser C96 as well as all other objects were created in Fusion 360 and painted in Substance Painter. I wanted to depict the demise of a combat medic during the WW2 period. The horrors of war haunted him to the point that he ended up taking his own life. Its 95% 3D with some blood paintovers in photoshop but most of the blood is basically just planes in cinema 4d. I wanted to do letterboxing and subtitles to frame my final shot to make it seem like it could have been a still from a short film/movie.
Blood was a little tricky in places to get right, i'm still open for criticism. Somehow the angle of the camera looks a bit wonky now that i'm looking at it, not sure if i'm seeing things.
